Description

Randstad is seeking a visionary Senior Network Solution Architect to join a premier transportation leader in the Washington, D.C. area (Remote). In this high-impact role, you will act as a strategic "Change Agent," bridging the gap between complex business requirements and enterprise-grade network infrastructure. With a focus on long-term scalability and innovation, you will design formal Conceptual and Solution Network Architectures, present to the Enterprise Architecture Review Council, and lead the technical evolution of large-scale, heterogeneous IT programs. We are looking for a seasoned expert who balances deep tactical engineering—rooted in CCIE-level routing and switching—with the strategic foresight to align IT initiatives with overarching business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Strategy: Lead the direction and definition of network architecture programs that support long-term business strategy and future-state goals.
  • Solution Design: Create and present formal Conceptual and Solution Network Architectures to senior leadership and the Enterprise Architecture Review Council.
  • Full Lifecycle Oversight: Engage in all project phases, from initial kickoff and requirements analysis to final implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Business Alignment: Interface across business units to proactively define technology roadmaps and build consensus for new infrastructure investments.
  • Standards & Governance: Ensure all applications and servers are built using industry best practices, promoting reusability and strict adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Mentorship & Innovation: Act as a technical visionary and mentor, challenging the status quo to integrate modern technologies like SOA and advanced EIM.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 15–20 years of broad IT experience, with at least 10–15 years specifically focused on relevant technology and network architecture.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert-level, hands-on capabilities in routing and switching within Data Center and Enterprise Network environments.
  • Certification: Active CCIE certification is required.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Deep understanding of EA frameworks, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and software design principles.
  • Proven Track Record: Experience as a Lead Architect for at least two large-scale, complex IT programs.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Industry Preference: Prior experience in the Transportation Industry is highly preferred.
