The Communication and Public Relations Office is seeking a self-motivated individual to support and drive the University’s corporate communications and public relations initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Organise and implement media publicity initiatives to elevate the University’s profile;
  • Proactively identify and develop newsworthy stories to enhance positive media exposure for the University;
  • Draft, edit, and manage a range of publicity materials and content for distribution across internal and external communication platforms;
  • Assist in handling media enquiries and responding to requests in a timely manner;
  • Monitor media channels for coverage concerning the University and prepare regular summaries as required;
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Support the Office in various functional areas and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree, preferably in Journalism, Communication Studies, or a related discipline, with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in corporate communications, public affairs and media relations;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with demonstrated creativity and ability to produce compelling and impactful content;
  • Experience in networking and building relationships with media professionals;
  • Strong sensitivity in current affairs and political landscape;
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and capable of working independently with strong project management skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • Willingness to work on weekends and outside office hours when required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for appointment as Officer.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
