Senior Officer Procurement
JOB PURPOSE:
The Procurement Officer plays a critical role in the procurement process by efficiently and cost-effectively acquiring goods and services for the organization. This role is responsible for various procurement tasks, from vendor sourcing and negotiation to purchase order processing and contract management.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive User Purchase Requisitions and review to ensure compliance to set Guidelines
- Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and in compliance with the organization policies and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and production, to understand their procurement needs and ensure their requirements are met.
- Participate in the identification of potential suppliers through market research and supplier evaluations.
- Ensure that suppliers and service providers payment requests are promptly processed, adequate documentation and information provided, approval is obtained and submitted to Finance for settlement
- Ensure contract compliance and manage contract renewals as necessary. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier Performance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics/ Purchasing & Supplies/ Business Administration/ Accounting / related field.
- 3+ years' experience in procurement and logistics in a reputable organization, preferably in the NGO setting
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Integrity, Proficient computer skills; word, power point, excel, Critical thinking, good judgement and objective decision making, Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to detail, Interpersonal and networking skills, Organization skills, Ability to work in team.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fixed Term Contract
SALARY: Negotiable
