Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior OpenShift DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and manage deployment frameworks for enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) platforms. This role focuses on building scalable and repeatable installation processes, managing platform services, and driving GitOps-based deployments across both connected and air-gapped environments.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes, strong automation capabilities, and hands‑on experience with modern DevOps, infrastructure‑as‑code, and secure software delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automated installation frameworks for OpenShift clusters using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.
Implement and maintain end-to-end platform provisioning workflows, including prerequisite validation and setup.
Deploy and manage platform components using Helm charts, OpenShift operators, and OCI-based artifacts.
Build and orchestrate CI/CD pipelines using Tekton and enterprise DevOps toolchains.
Implement GitOps-based deployment strategies using Argo CD for application lifecycle management.
Manage installation and configuration of core platform services such as Vault, monitoring stacks, and operators.
Develop and maintain air‑gapped (disconnected) installation and upgrade mechanisms, including image mirroring.
Integrate tools such as Ansible, OC Mirror, JQ, YQ, and Terraform into deployment workflows.
Implement secure software supply chain practices, including container image signing using Cosign.
Enable standardized deployment processes across environments and entry points.
Collaborate with platform engineering, SRE, and release teams to align on scalable deployment strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands‑on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) administration and deployment.
Deep understanding of OpenShift control plane architecture, cluster lifecycle management, and Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM).
Strong expertise in Kubernetes core concepts including networking, scheduling, and cluster operations.
Automation & Infrastructure
Advanced proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash) for automation and installer development.
Experience building custom deployment frameworks and automation pipelines.
Hands‑on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or similar.
Deployment, CI/CD & GitOps
Experience with Helm for application packaging and deployment.
Experience with Argo CD for GitOps-based deployments.
Experience with Tekton Pipelines for CI/CD execution.
Strong experience designing and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
Containerization & Supply Chain Security
Expertise in Docker and containerization practices.
Experience with OCI‑compliant container registries and image packaging tools.
Experience with image mirroring for air‑gapped environments.
Experience using Cosign for container image signing and verification.
DevOps Tooling & Networking
Experience with OC CLI, OC Mirror, Ansible, JQ, and YQ.
Strong understanding of DNS concepts and networking fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in secure or air‑gapped OpenShift environments.
Familiarity with Red Hat ecosystem tools and installer frameworks.
Experience with multi‑cluster OpenShift deployments or hybrid cloud architectures.
Exposure to platform engineering or Internal Developer Platform (IDP) initiatives.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent collaboration skills across distributed teams.
