Senior Operational Geologist (m/f/d)
We are looking for you to join our growing team in Karlsruhe as a full-time (40 hours per week) as Senior Operational Geologist (m/f/d).
- You will play a key role in well delivery by providing geological support throughout planning, drilling, evaluation, and reporting activities while working closely with multidisciplinary teams and service providers.
- You contribute to and support operations geology and wellsite geology activities, interfacing with drilling teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- You perform geological offset well studies and contribute to detailed well planning, including the preparation of key documentation such as Statements of Requirements (SOR) and Geological Evaluation Programs (GEP).
- You provide geological support during drilling operations, participating in operational meetings, delivering onsite support, conducting real-time interpretations, and providing operational recommendations.
- You prepare and contribute to operational reporting, including Daily Geological Reports and input to Daily Drilling Reports.
- You lead or support QA/QC and supervision of geoscientific evaluation activities, covering mudlogging, wireline logging, LWD/MWD operations, sample acquisition, data processing, and final deliverables.
- You ensure the proper acquisition, handling, management, and documentation of geological samples, data, and reports in accordance with company standards and industry best practices.
- You contribute to the preparation and quality assurance of End of Well Reports (EOWR) and support post-well evaluation activities.
- You support tendering, technical evaluations, contractor management, and budgeting for mudlogging and formation evaluation services.
- You hold a university degree in Geosciences or a related discipline.
- You bring more than 10 years of onsite operational experience as a Wellsite Geologist or Operations Geologist in fluid mining or comparable drilling projects.
- You have proven experience performing operational QA/QC on well and formation evaluation tools as well as surveyed geological data.
- You are proficient in industry-standard software used for well log visualization, interpretation, and analysis.
- You demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and ensure compliance in all operational activities.
- You are willing to travel regularly and work at well sites, including providing support outside standard office hours when operational requirements demand it.
- You communicate effectively and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, acting as a key interface between different functions, contractors, and stakeholders.
- You are a proactive team player with a hands-on approach, capable of supporting complex workflows in a dynamic operational environment.
