Senior Operations Manager
Join Stryker in a leadership role overseeing manufacturing operations within a regulated medical device environment. This position is responsible for leading manufacturing, planning, purchasing, materials, and distribution functions while balancing quality, delivery, cost, and compliance objectives. The role offers broad operational scope, including team leadership, production management, continuous improvement, and strategic planning across multiple operational areas.
What You Will Do
Lead manufacturing, planning, purchasing, materials, and distribution teams to achieve production, quality, inventory, and cost performance targets.
Develop talent through recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and development planning aligned to operational objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve productivity, quality, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
Manage production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow prioritization to ensure medical devices are produced and delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner.
Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, product specifications, quality management processes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), workplace safety standards, and company policies.
Direct capital equipment evaluations, facility improvement initiatives, and asset preservation activities to support operational performance and future capacity needs.
Manage departmental budgets, operating expenses, and capital planning activities, while providing regular performance reporting to leadership.
Partner with Quality, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Research & Development, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support operational goals and project execution.
What You Will Need
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or people management experience.
Experience managing manufacturing operations in a regulated environment subject to quality and compliance requirements.
Experience managing budgets, operational performance metrics, and cross-functional projects.
Experience implementing process improvements, production optimization initiatives, or operational excellence programs.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field.
Project Management, Lean, Six Sigma, or Leadership certification/training.
