Senior Operations Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage daily trading operations for copper, lead, silver and gold-bearing concentrates and ores.
• Coordinate with suppliers, mining companies, inspection agencies and overseas colleagues in Brazil, Peru, Chile and other South American countries.
• Arrange vessel bookings, cargo transportation, container stuffing and load-port logistics.
• Coordinate weighing, sampling, moisture determination and quality assays with independent inspection companies.
• Monitor cargo loading, customs clearance, vessel schedules and shipment departures.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and inspection certificates.
• Coordinate trade finance documentation for LC, D/P, D/A and other financing arrangements.
• Follow up on payments, shipping document submissions and cargo releases.
• Monitor storage, demurrage, detention and other logistics costs to minimise operational expenses.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and provide regular operational updates to management.
• Work closely with overseas teams to resolve operational issues and ensure timely shipment execution.
• Identify potential operational risks and take proactive measures to prevent delays and additional costs.
• Reconcile shipment quantities, assay results and final settlement documentation.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in commodity trading operations, shipping or international logistics.
• Experience in mineral concentrates trading and South American export operations is highly preferred.

Mandatory:

• Professional working proficiency in both Portuguese and Spanish (spoken and written), with the ability to independently communicate and negotiate operational matters with suppliers, mining companies, inspection agencies, freight forwarders and local colleagues in Brazil, Peru, Chile and other South American countries.
• Good command of English for business correspondence and communication with the Singapore team.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping documentation and logistics procedures.
• Familiarity with LC, D/P, D/A and trade finance procedures is an advantage.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple shipments simultaneously and meet tight operational deadlines.
