The Project

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Developer to join a high profile technology initiative supporting the expansion of a critical public sector operational system. This project will deliver enhancements required to meet upcoming legislative changes, with a fast paced delivery timeframe and significant business impact.



Working within a collaborative development team, you will contribute to the enhancement of a business critical platform that supports regulatory and operational processes, ensuring the solution remains secure, reliable, and fit for purpose as new requirements are introduced.



Please note this role is based in the CBD of Perth, and cannot be performed remotely. There is a requirement for the successful candidate to work onsite all 5 days.



Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and maintain Oracle based applications and database solutions.

· Deliver enhancements and integrations for complex enterprise systems.

· Develop and optimise SQL and PL/SQL code to support application functionality and performance.

· Build and maintain APIs and services for data exchange using JSON and XML.

· Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technology solutions.

· Ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and quality standards.

· Produce and maintain technical documentation.

· Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to other developers within the team.

· Support the ongoing operation of critical production systems and resolve technical issues as required.



Skills and Experience

· Extensive software development experience, including current Oracle development expertise.

· Strong hands on experience with Oracle databases, SQL, and PL/SQL development.

· Proven experience in database design, performance tuning, and query optimisation.

· Mandatory experience with Oracle Forms & Reports (12c or 14c).

· Experience developing APIs using Oracle PL/SQL, including complex JSON and XML processing.

· Experience integrating Oracle platforms with external applications and enterprise systems.

· Oracle APEX experience, particularly version 24, will be highly regarded.

· Ability to interpret complex business requirements and deliver secure, scalable solutions.

· Experience working within highly regulated or operationally critical environments.

· Strong problem solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

· Previous experience working within large enterprise environments with established governance and delivery frameworks is highly desirable.
