Senior Paid Social Strategist (Meta)
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Paid Social Strategist (Meta) based in Canada.
This is a hands-on senior paid media role focused on driving profitable growth for premium and luxury direct-to-consumer brands.
You will own Meta strategy and execution across multiple accounts, working directly in Ads Manager every day.
Your responsibilities will span campaign architecture, budget management, creative testing, tracking, optimization, and scaling.
You will manage significant monthly media budgets while making data-informed decisions against ROAS, CPA, and MER targets.
The role combines deep platform expertise with client-facing strategic leadership and the ability to confidently defend recommendations.
You will also mentor junior team members and help maintain a high quality bar across paid social execution.

Accountabilities:
- Own Meta strategy and execution: Lead day-to-day paid social activity across a portfolio of DTC accounts, including campaign builds, account structure, budget pacing, testing, optimization, and scaling decisions.
- Manage significant media investment: Oversee $100K+ in monthly Meta spend while optimizing campaigns against ROAS, CPA, MER, and broader profitability objectives.
- Manage tracking and measurement: Personally configure and quality-assure Meta tracking infrastructure, including pixels, Conversions API (CAPI), event quality, catalogs, and product feeds.
- Lead creative testing: Develop structured creative testing programs, brief creative teams, critically evaluate creative output, and connect creative performance insights to in-platform campaign strategy.
- Support cross-channel strategy: Maintain working knowledge of Google, TikTok, and other relevant channels, contributing to cross-channel budget allocation and understanding how paid social performance interacts with the broader media mix.
- Lead client conversations: Own the paid social portion of client calls, communicate performance clearly, present actionable recommendations, and confidently challenge requests when they do not support the client’s best interests.
- Mentor and maintain quality: Coach junior paid media professionals and act as a final quality-assurance checkpoint for paid social work before campaigns and changes go live.
- Paid social experience: 4+ years of hands-on paid social experience, either within an agency or on the brand side in a high-growth environment.
- Advanced Meta expertise: Deep practical knowledge of Meta advertising, including Advantage+, Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO), signal quality, Conversions API (CAPI), and incrementality.
- Budget ownership: Proven experience personally managing $100K+ in monthly Meta spend, with a track record of delivering measurable improvements in campaign efficiency.
- DTC and e-commerce expertise: Strong experience owning paid acquisition for direct-to-consumer or e-commerce businesses. Experience with premium or luxury brands and higher average order values is a strong advantage.
- Cross-channel knowledge: Working knowledge of Google Ads and the ability to discuss its role and performance credibly alongside Meta and other paid media channels.
- Analytics and attribution: Strong familiarity with GA4, Looker Studio, attribution concepts, and performance measurement.
- Client communication: Fluent, confident English with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead client-facing discussions, explain complex performance data, and make persuasive recommendations.
- Strategic judgment: Comfortable balancing data, creative performance, platform dynamics, and business objectives while making clear recommendations and pushing back when necessary.
- Remote adaptability: Able to work effectively in a fast-moving, remote-first environment while managing multiple accounts and competing priorities.
- Compensation: USD $6,000–$8,000 per month on a contract basis.
