Senior Payments Production Support Engineer – Global IT Solutions

As a Senior Payments Production Support Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global IT solutions provider specializing in high-stakes financial technology services. You will contribute to maintaining and optimizing the platform responsible for Payments execution, messaging, orchestration, and sanctions & investigation services. Your main responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day production support, including live incident resolution and post-incident problem management.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues, identifying root causes swiftly under pressure.
  • Install and configure new vendor software releases and implement locally developed automation solutions (Shell Script, Java, Bash, Python).
  • Support testing activities for new deployments and system updates.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to review, optimize, and re-engineer processes leveraging new technologies to enhance performance.
  • Design and implement service improvements, capability uplifts, and process automation initiatives.
  • Analyze system architecture and performance metrics to optimize platform stability.
  • Participate in data validation, development, testing, and data reconciliation activities.
  • Lead and support automation tasks within CI/CD pipelines, adhering to Agile / DevOps best practices.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience working with SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Minimum 5 years of Linux administration and scripting expertise.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and components.
  • Hands-on experience with shell scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Java for automation.
  • Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven expertise in high-frequency change environments and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English suitable for a global organization.
  • Demonstrated triage capability under high-pressure scenarios with strong priority judgment.
  • Experience working within Agile or DevOps teams supporting production environments.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

  • Experience in Payments domain.
  • Knowledge of Puppet/Ansible or similar configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Experience with Python or Java development.

Language Required for the role:

  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
