Senior Payroll Administrator

SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Senior Payroll Administrator. The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing the company’s multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for 500+ employees and overseeing payroll operations related to equity compensation. As a wholly owned subsidiary, the role also supports coordination with the parent company to ensure compliance with consolidated reporting requirements, SOX controls, and corporate policies. The ideal candidate has deep payroll expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and experience within a public company.
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer the full payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant multi-state payroll processing.
- Review, enter, maintain, and audit payroll data within ADP and other HRIS systems to ensure accurate employee records.
- Reconcile ADP payroll data with Costpoint Accounting System and prepare bi-weekly general ledger payroll entries and monthly accruals.
- Ensure proper payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions and withholdings.
- Maintain payroll documentation for internal and external audits.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee payroll information.
- Collaborate with HR to properly administer, process, and pay all employee leaves of absence, including disability and Family Medical Leave.
- Process benefit and employment status changes to ensure accurate payroll reflection.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of payroll policies and procedures.
- Review and reconcile quarterly payroll tax filings.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll legislation and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, system issues, and data irregularities.
- Support automation, system upgrades, and process improvements related to payroll operations.
- Administer and process RSU vesting events, including tax withholdings, payroll reporting, and coordination with the company’s equity platform.
- Ensure accurate and timely integration of equity transactions into payroll and accounting systems.
- Partner with Accounting, HR, and external equity administrators to reconcile RSU activity and support stock-based compensation reporting.
- Maintain documentation and compliance related to payroll and equity compensation for audits, financial, and compliance reporting.
- Assist with special projects and other related responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Minimum 4 years of payroll experience with strong knowledge of multi-state payroll fundamentals
- Public company experience required
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with HRIS or payroll systems (Workday and ADP preferred)
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve system related discrepancies and complex payroll issues
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
- Detail oriented with strong problem solving, verbal, and written communication skills
Candidates who have the following skills will be preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar GovCon-specific

The pay range for this position is $97,000-$128,000/ year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills This is not a guarantee of compensation.
