As Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll deliver a smooth, accurate and trusted payroll experience, helping our people feel supported and confident in the moments that matter.

Where you will make an impact

  • Support our people by delivering accurate, on-time payroll across multiple pay groups
  • Keep payroll records accurate and up to date, including employee details, leave balances and amendments
  • Apply New Zealand legislation, employment agreements and Bupa policies with care, consistency and confidence
  • Resolve one-off payments, corrections and complex adjustments with clear approvals, documentation and audit trails
  • Be a trusted point of support for employees and managers, responding to payroll queries with empathy, clarity and care
  • Contribute to smooth pay-period, month-end and year-end activities through accurate reconciliations, reporting and follow-up
  • Use Paytools and ServiceNow to manage workflows, track commitments and help deliver a responsive payroll experience

About You

  • You bring strong end-to-end New Zealand payroll experience, ideally from a complex or high-volume environment
  • You’re confident working through complex payroll matters, using sound judgement and escalating risks when needed
  • Knowledgeable in New Zealand payroll legislation, employment obligations, agreements, reporting and controls
  • Comfortable using payroll and people systems such as iChris, UKG Dimensions WorkforcePro, Workday, ServiceNow and Paytools
  • You build trust through clear communication, strong relationships and a genuinely customer-focused approach
  • Highly accurate, detail-focused and able to work well to critical payroll deadlines.
  • Skilled in Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, validation and payroll analysis
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Copilot.
  • You enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting others and helping a team grow stronger together
