Senior Planner - Data Centre
Summary
Senior planner creates and maintains detailed schedules for large-scale data center construction projects using Primavera P6 and MS Project, tracks progress, and advises on delays and claims.
Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Sr.Planner to join our data centre team in the Middle East.

Responsibilities:
- Implement Project Planning & Scheduling strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Company and contractor roles, responsibilities and expectations
- Assess, review and monitor detailed Primavera P6 schedules including WBS, activities, relationships, constraints, and resource loading according to Client Specifications.
- Conduct schedule analysis, forecasts, and performance tracking (e.g., SPI, CPI, Earned Value)
- Integrate various contract packages into master plan schedule
- Review contractor’s submitted schedule and make recommendations to client
- Prepare regular internal/external weekly and monthly progress report for management and client
- Develop a project control procedure to monitor the progress of project.
- Interact with contractor and verify the project data to update project schedule
- Support project management in key decision-making with reliable scheduling insights
- Develop mitigation plans
- Assess any contractor’s extension of time claim and prepare defense claim report
- Put forward recommendation report for any contractor’s EOT claim
- Analyze critical path and constraints to determine the effect of changes to project schedule. Ensure that the Financial Periods are set and followed by the Contractor in the Schedule
- Analyze and highlight the overall schedule impact of any variance / change order.
- Prepare resourcing plans for the overall and individual project phases, identifying any excessive peak numbers and making recommendations for peak leveling.
- Ensure that schedule related from vendors, suppliers, engineering and construction contractors of projects is provided as feedback into the planning and scheduling systems.
- Working closely with various disciplines in project teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules produced.
- Provide onsite progress measurement and verification of billing.
- 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a focus on complex construction projects.
- Track record of working on the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion
- Expert experience level using project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P3, P5, P6), Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
- Proven experience with resource loading, cost/schedule integration, and baseline management
- Experience in coordinating multiple sources of schedule performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project status reports required for large scale projects
- Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and contract terms
- Familiarity with international project management standards (PMI)
- Ability to lead, coordinate & organize multiple sources of schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required.
