Senior Planning Engineer
Overview of the role
To provide support to the business and project management teams (depending on nature and size of project) and is responsible in preparing, monitoring, updating, and revising the construction schedule as necessary. Monitors the accomplishments at site and analyses its effect on the project schedule.
Functionally reporting to planning manager/senior planning manager.
What you will do?
- Thorough analysis of tender information and preparation of tender programmes.
- Preparation of baseline/contract programmes inclusive of procurement and engineering activities (resource loaded programmes). Thereafter, generate procurement and engineering schedules and communicate to respective departments.
- Prior project commencement, further to baseline programme, generate three-week and three-month realistic look-ahead schedule.
- Producing plant list and labour histogram during pre and post contract.
- In liaison with planning manager/senior planning manager analyse and evaluate construction methods and techniques.
- Assist estimation team in the preparation of prelims.
- In liaison with planning manager and tendering lead prepare project logistics plan and methods statement(s).
- Identify complex construction activities and assist planning manager and tendering lead to generate risks and opportunities register.
- Monitor and assess project progress production of weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- In liaison with planning manager, developing delay mitigation, if required, action plan and revising baseline/contract programme accordingly.
- Assisting planning manager to produce time impact analysis in case of changes to the project scope or due to unforeseen factors.

What qualifies you for the role?
Minimum qualifications and knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of infrastructure and building construction, enterprise, innovation and business growth issues.
- Good knowledge of local legislations.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera planning software and have extensive experience of using it in a commercial environment.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of the planning profession and development process.
- Preferably licensed engineer.
Minimum experience:
- Have a minimum of 5-7 years in project planning role and/or technical experience.
