Senior Platform Engineer (Azure)

Salary: £56,000 - 96,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Platform Engineer with strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• We ideally want experience across Azure architecture and administration.
• We ideally want experience across Azure networking, identity and RBAC.
• We ideally want experience with Terraform and/or Bicep.
• We ideally want experience with PowerShell and Azure CLI.
• We ideally want experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• We ideally want experience with Git and CI/CD.
• We ideally want experience with Azure security, governance and monitoring.
• We ideally want experience with automation and DevOps engineering practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric would be a big advantage, but it is not essential.
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Synapse, Data Lake, data pipelines or lakehouse architectures would also be valuable.
• Exposure to Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Defender, Purview or Power Platform would also be useful.

Responsibilities:

• We will take ownership of engineering across a growing Microsoft Azure estate.
• We will design and improve Azure infrastructure, networking, identity and security.
• We will drive greater adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• We will work with Terraform and/or Bicep, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Git and CI/CD.
• We will implement Azure governance, monitoring and security controls.
• We will work with technologies including Azure Policy, Key Vault, Private Endpoints and Defender.
• We will support the engineering platform behind Microsoft Fabric and modern data workloads.
• We will lead technical projects and influence cloud architecture decisions.
• We will help replace legacy and manual processes with modern, automated solutions.
• We will act as a senior technical escalation point for the platforms we build.
