Summary
Consulting placement via emagine for a client in Stockholm: build the client's next-generation internal developer platform that abstracts cloud infrastructure for product teams. Day to day is hands-on platform engineering work centered on AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps, IaC and automation, with 4 days per week on-site.
emagine is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer for an exciting client in Stockholm. You will play a key role in developing the client’s next-generation developer platform, with a strong focus on developer experience, cloud infrastructure, automation, and scalability.
Start: ASAP
Assignment duration: Ongoing, minimum 6 months
On-site policy: 4 days per week on-site in Stockholm

The Assignment
The client’s infrastructure is currently decentralized, with a central platform function providing building blocks that development teams assemble themselves to define and manage the infrastructure for their applications according to DevOps principles.
This approach has created a high degree of autonomy, but it has also placed significant demands on the infrastructure expertise of individual development teams. It has also resulted in variations in solutions and ways of working, where lessons learned, improvements, and best practices are not always shared effectively across teams.
The client now wants to build its next-generation developer platform.
The goal is to enable development teams to define the capabilities their applications require at a higher level of abstraction, while the platform takes responsibility for translating those requirements into appropriate underlying cloud technologies.
Through a flexible abstraction layer built on AWS, Kubernetes, and GitOps, the platform will centralize much of the operational and maintenance responsibility that is currently distributed across the organization.
The aim is to reduce infrastructure complexity for product teams, create a more consistent developer experience, and free up more time for development teams to focus on delivering value to end users.
We Would Like You to Have
Several years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or a similar field.
Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture.
Deep experience with Kubernetes, including designing and operating production-critical environments.
Experience with GitOps, including related tools and ways of working.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
A strong understanding of CI/CD, automation, observability, reliability, security, and cloud operations.
A strong understanding of software development and the ability to treat an internal platform as a product rather than simply as infrastructure.
An interest in, and preferably hands-on experience with, AI and AI-assisted development tools.
Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with developers, product teams, and other technical stakeholders.
