Senior Platform Engineer (Java) at BairesDev
We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer who knows Java well and has worked on the infrastructure layer of systems that move data at scale. You understand distributed systems from the inside, you’re solid on concurrent programming, and you have experience with data flow or streaming platforms that other teams and products build on top of. You’ll be part of the engineering team behind a platform used by thousands of organizations globally to manage and route their most important data.
- Build and maintain platform infrastructure components in Java that support large-scale distributed data flow.
- Design and implement concurrent, high-throughput services that underpin data ingestion and stream processing workflows.
- Ensure platform components are reliable, observable, and performant under sustained production load.
- Work with engineering teams across the organization to define platform interfaces and integration patterns.
- Identify systemic performance and reliability issues and lead efforts to resolve them.
- Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, and the continuous improvement of platform quality.
What We Are Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in IT roles
- 3+ years of experience using Java as a primary language in platform or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong background in distributed systems architecture and operational challenges at scale.
- Solid concurrent programming skills and understanding of multi-threaded system design.
- Experience building or working with data flow, streaming, or pipeline-oriented platform products.
- Open source contribution experience is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
