About the Role
Join a public safety technology team building and operating the data and infrastructure platform behind large-scale image search. You will own reliable distributed systems and data services from architecture through deployment and production operations.

Design and operate data infrastructure for large-scale ingestion into object storage and indexing across databases and vector stores.
Make architectural tradeoffs across storage tiers, distributed databases, and high-throughput messaging and streaming systems.
Deploy and scale containerized services across environments using orchestration platforms, declarative configuration, and GitOps workflows.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and DevOps tooling that supports safe, frequent releases.
Help maintain secure, auditable, reliable systems in federal or other regulated environments.
Troubleshoot and tune application, storage, and networking systems, and mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
What We're Looking For
Five or more years of software engineering experience building and maintaining production systems, with experience owning systems through deployment and on-call operations.
Hands-on AWS experience and a strong understanding of distributed systems, backend engineering, and production data pipelines.
Experience designing large-scale data storage and retrieval across hot and cold tiers.
DevOps experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automated deployments.
Experience running containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and familiarity with Terraform, GitOps, Python or Go, PostgreSQL, vector databases, object storage, Kafka, ArgoCD, and Helm.
Federal or regulated-environment experience, including FedRAMP, is beneficial.
