Build the engineering platforms behind a global investment organisation
We are hiring for a global investment management firm with more than 30 years of experience across international markets and asset classes. Technology is a core part of the organisation’s business. The company continues to invest in its engineering capabilities and is expanding its Warsaw-based technology team, which works closely with colleagues across the US, EMEA and APAC.
This is a role for someone who wants to stay close to code while working on platform engineering, SDLC tooling, cloud infrastructure and developer productivity. It is not a position focused only on Jenkins administration or writing small automation scripts. The team is looking for an engineer with genuine Python development experience who can build internal tools, improve engineering platforms and solve complex problems across build, deployment and integration environments.
What you will work on
You will join a global team responsible for supporting and developing a range of SDLC systems and tools used by development teams across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
developing internal tools and automation solutions in Python;
supporting and improving AWS-based CI/CD environments;
working with Jenkins, GitHub and other development platforms;
building and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform;
supporting containerised environments based on Docker, Kubernetes, ECS and EKS;
troubleshooting complex build, deployment and integration issues;
improving developer productivity and reducing repetitive manual work;
implementing security controls across the development toolchain;
supporting secure SDLC practices and security automation;
working with tools such as Artifactory, Bitbucket and SonarQube;
improving platform reliability, maintainability and operational efficiency;
collaborating directly with engineering teams across different regions;
maintaining technical documentation and internal knowledge resources.
The scope is balanced between building and improving solutions and solving complex technical issues together with development teams.
What we are looking for
5+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or SRE;
strong hands-on experience with Python development - not only basic scripting;
practical experience with AWS;
strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration;
hands-on experience with Terraform;
experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines;
practical knowledge of Jenkins and GitHub;
good understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies and version control practices;
experience with Docker and cloud-native environments;
experience supporting complex development or platform environments;
strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
understanding of infrastructure as code and secure SDLC practices;
ability to work independently and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
We are open to different backgrounds
You may be a strong match if you are:
a DevOps or Platform Engineer with solid Python development experience;
an SRE who has built internal tools and automation platforms;
a Python Software Engineer with strong AWS, CI/CD and infrastructure knowledge;
a Developer Productivity, Developer Experience or Build Engineer working close to engineering platforms.
Your current job title is less important than the depth of your hands-on experience.
Team and working model
global team of approximately 15 people across the US, EMEA and APAC;
regular working hours;
no on-call rotation;
no weekend support;
hybrid model: 3 days per week in the Warsaw office;
permanent employment contract.
What is offered
salary of up to PLN 35,000 gross per month;
private healthcare benefits;
maternity, paternity, adoption and family care leave policies;
mental health and Employee Assistance programmes;
transportation support;
tuition and professional development assistance;
international engineering environment;
opportunity to work on platforms used across a global organisation;
broad exposure to Python, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, security and developer tooling.
