ACE Moharram & Associates is hiring a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Plumbing and Firefighting to develop, review, and coordinate mechanical design solutions for building projects.
The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of plumbing and firefighting systems, experience preparing design deliverables, and the ability to coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review plumbing and firefighting system designs in line with project requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare and review design calculations, technical drawings, layouts, specifications, and other required design documentation.
- Design plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and related building services.
- Design firefighting systems based on project requirements and applicable fire protection standards.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to resolve design clashes and technical issues.
- Review design documents to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and consistency across project deliverables.
- Address technical comments from clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Support the preparation and timely submission of design packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on plumbing and firefighting systems.
- Experience preparing and reviewing mechanical design drawings and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Autodesk RVT, AutoCAD, Elite or SolidWorks
- Knowledge of International Mechanical Codes and Standards (ASME, ASTM, API, NFPA, ISO)
- Familiarity with Local and International Engineering Codes
- Ability to Interpret and Apply Engineering Standards and Specifications
- Fire Fighting, Water supply and drainage design.
- Strong technical coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
