Overview:
The Senior Podcast Audio and Video Editor leads the transformation of long-form B2B podcast content into performance-driven, multi-platform media assets. This role combines deep technical expertise with creative judgment and strategic awareness. The editor is responsible for ensuring that all audio and video content is of the highest quality, optimized for platform-specific engagement, and aligned with broader marketing and storytelling goals. This individual is a self-directed professional who thrives on tight deadlines, cross-functional collaboration, and a feedback-driven editing process. They bring a portfolio of work that demonstrates an ability to distill complex ideas into visually and audibly compelling short- and long-form content and have a track record of creating content that performs across YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, and other major distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end editing process for both long-form podcast episodes and short-form video cutdowns, ensuring premium quality and narrative cohesion
Strategically extract key moments from raw interviews to craft attention-grabbing shorts designed for LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok
Apply advanced video and audio editing techniques including multi-camera sync, sound design, mixing, color grading, and motion graphics integration
Work closely with producers, content strategists, and marketing teams to align editing choices with campaign goals, platform algorithms, and audience expectations
Stay up-to-date with platform-specific best practices for discoverability, watch time optimization, captioning, and thumbnail creation
Interpret performance metrics (e.g., retention rate, scroll depth, viewer drop-off) to iterate and refine editing strategy over time
Maintain a robust post-production workflow using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Pro Tools, Audition, or other industry-standard tools
Deliver consistently on fast-paced timelines without compromising quality, with an ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously
Collaborate with other editors and freelancers, providing feedback and maintaining consistency in visual and audio style
Recommend and implement new editing tools, templates, or workflows to improve speed and creative output
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in professional podcast and/or video editing, including both long-form and short-form B2B content
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition) or equivalent professional editing tools
Demonstrated experience editing content for YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram with clear KPIs around reach, engagement, or lead generation
Strong understanding of content storytelling, pacing, sound design, and motion design in a B2B context
Exceptional attention to detail in everything from waveform cleanup to final frame rendering
Experience interpreting audience metrics and performance data to improve future edits and inform creative direction
Ability to work collaboratively with marketing, production, and technical teams in a fast-paced, remote environment
Experience in managing or mentoring junior editors, freelancers, or production assistants is a plus
Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and communicate clearly under pressure
