Senior Power BI Architect - Looker/BigQuery

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Power BI Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise BI solutions. The role involves migrating analytics workloads to GCP/BigQuery, building governed semantic models using LookML/Looker, and delivering scalable Power BI reporting solutions.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring strong expertise in Power BI, data modeling, cloud migration, and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and architect scalable Power BI solutions and semantic models.

- Lead GCP/BigQuery migration of existing BI and analytics workloads.

- Develop advanced DAX, Power Query M and SQL.

- Build and govern LookML/Looker semantic models.

- Design star schemas, relationships and enterprise data models.

- Optimize Power BI and BigQuery performance.

- Manage Power BI Service, workspaces, refresh, gateways and security.

- Ensure data and business metrics remain consistent across Power BI, Looker and BigQuery.

- Lead technical design, code reviews, troubleshooting and production delivery.

- Mentor developers and collaborate with data engineering and business teams.

Must-Have Skills :

- 10+ years of experience in BI / Data Engineering.

- 5+ years of strong hands-on Power BI experience.

- 3+ years in Architecture / Technical Leadership.

- Strong DAX, Power Query M and SQL.

- Hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery.

- Strong LookML / Looker experience.

- Excellent knowledge of data modeling and star schema.

- Experience with Power BI performance optimization.

- Experience with cloud / BI migration projects.

- Strong understanding of security, governance and production support.

- Good exposure to Git, CI/CD and Python / automation.

Good to Have :

- Dataflow / Datastream, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer / Airflow, dbt / Dataform, Snowflake / Databricks, Power BI REST API / XMLA, Paginated Reports.

Ideal Candidate :

A hands-on Senior Power BI Architect who can independently drive Power BI architecture, GCP/BigQuery migration and LookML semantic modeling, while leading technical decisions and mentoring engineering teams.
