What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a motivated R&D Electronics/Systems/Microelectronics Engineer to join the Inertial Sensors Department and support Sandia's production of advanced microelectromechanical sensor (MEMS) technologies. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in transitioning new environmental sensors from a development state to production rigor manufacturing. The main role for this position would be to establish a production ready environment for our post-fab processes including microelectronics packaging and MEMS sensor test activities in support of current programs with a vision in mind to support future technologies with applications in Nuclear Deterrence, non-proliferation, Energy, and Homeland Security.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Lead a team of technologists and staff for production activities for microelectronic system integration including collaborating with design, fabrication, packaging, and test teams.
- Coordinate production floor activities and work in progress (WIP) management for MEMS sensor assembly processes as well as device testing and screen activities.
- Evaluate and optimize factory throughput capacity including strategic tool and personnel resourcing activities.
- Assess and address gaps in production capabilities, processes, and procedures to enable high-rigor, high confidence production activities.
You may have an educational background in Systems Engineering or a relevant Engineering or Science degree.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
