The impact you will have on this role:

The Senior AWS and Terraform Engineer will design, build, and automate enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure capabilities across AWS using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices. This role will be central to enabling standardized, secure, and repeatable environment provisioning for application and platform teams.

The individual will help mature cloud platform engineering by creating reusable Terraform modules, delivery patterns, and automation workflows that accelerate provisioning while aligning with enterprise architecture, security, governance, and operational standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure-as-code patterns for AWS services.

• Build standardized AWS infrastructure blueprints for common workload archetypes, including compute, networking, security, storage, messaging, and observability components.

• Implement secure and scalable AWS environments using services such as VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, KMS, Secrets Manager, and related platform services.

• Integrate Terraform automation with CI/CD pipelines, source control, policy-as-code, security scanning, and enterprise change management workflows.

• Enable self-service infrastructure provisioning through reusable modules, templates, APIs, and platform automation workflows.

• Develop and maintain Terraform state management, module versioning, release practices, and environment promotion standards.

• Implement cloud security guardrails including IAM least privilege, encryption, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, and compliance controls.

• Collaborate with platform, cloud, application, security, and operations teams to align solutions with architecture standards and enterprise technology governance.

• Troubleshoot complex AWS and Terraform deployment issues across development, test, and production environments.

• Establish best practices for infrastructure as code, cloud provisioning, tagging, cost optimization, resiliency, and operational readiness.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

• 7+ years of cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or related technology delivery experience.

• Candidate should have 7+ years of experience in a related cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering role.

• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS infrastructure in enterprise environments.

• Advanced Terraform experience, including reusable module development, remote state management, workspaces, providers, variables, outputs, and module versioning.

• Experience integrating Terraform with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitOps, GitLab CI, or similar pipeline technologies.

• Strong understanding of AWS networking, IAM, security services, compute platforms, managed databases, storage, monitoring, and resiliency patterns.

• Experience with Git-based workflows, code review practices, automated testing, and infrastructure release management.

• Experience implementing security, compliance, and governance controls using infrastructure as code and policy-as-code practices.

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.

• Solid understanding of cloud operating models, landing zone concepts, account structures, environment provisioning, and reusable infrastructure blueprints.

• Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift on AWS, including OCP integration patterns.

• Experience with Terraform Cloud, Terraform Enterprise, Atlantis, Terragrunt, Open Policy Agent, Sentinel, Checkov, tfsec, or comparable IaC governance tools.

• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AWS Security Specialty are preferred.

• Familiarity with platform engineering operating models, self-service provisioning, golden paths, and developer experience enablement.

• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with complex governance, security, resiliency, and integration requirements.

• Financial services experience is preferred but not required.

• Candidate should have 7+ years of experience in a related cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering role.

• Degree in a related field is desirable but not required.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver production-ready AWS infrastructure capabilities in partnership with architecture, engineering, security, and operations teams.

• Hands-on background across AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud security, observability, and operational automation.
