Senior Process Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for leading theprocess engineering design, optimisation and technical delivery of water,wastewater and ultrapure water treatment processes for EPC projects. The roleprovides technical leadership from concept design through commissioning andsupports project teams in delivering safe, efficient and sustainable treatmentsolutions that meet client, regulatory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the process design and engineering of water, wastewater, recycled water, desalination and ultrapure water (UPW) treatment systems.
  • Support proposal development by preparing process concepts, technical solutions, equipment selection and engineering inputs.
  • Develop and review process design calculations, including mass balance, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing and chemical dosing.
  • Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), technical specifications, process design reports and engineering deliverables.
  • Lead technical reviews, design optimisation and value engineering initiatives.
  • Evaluate and approve vendor technical submissions and equipment selections.
  • Evaluate new technologies, products and equipment for technical suitability and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support to the Project, Procurement, EICA and Mechanical Engineering teams throughout project execution.
  • Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives.
  • Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, performance testing and plant optimisation.
  • Lead process troubleshooting, commissioning, performance testing, plant optimization and recommend practical engineering solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities and suppliers on process engineering matters.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and design practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in process engineering for water, wastewater, desalination, ultrapure water (UPW) or industrial water treatment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of membrane technologies, ion exchange, EDI, chemical and biological treatment processes.
  • Experience in EPC project design, commissioning and process optimisation.
  • Familiarity with international engineering standards and water industry design practices.
  • Strong analytical, technical report writing and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with AutoCAD, process simulation software and hydraulic modelling tools will be an advantage.
