Senior Procurement Manager - Offshore Wind

Role & Responsibility

Your role will entail developing and implementing a supply chain and commercial strategy, entering into contracts with the right suppliers, and supporting the realization of the project in accordance with the project procurement strategy and contract management strategy.

  • The planning, implementation and execution of commercial contracts and/or tender strategies.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts including service, consultancy, supply and installation contracts.
  • Provide guidance and advice to our clients on a variety of commercial and contractual matters.

On a day-to-day basis through the commercial process; tendering, negotiations, and contract execution; you will:

  • Lead and coordinate commercial, technical, financial and legal expertise from both our clients and within JUMBO, while in turn ensuring compliance with our clients governance and approval procedures;
  • Look to provide maximum value to our clients in terms of quality, price and schedule while minimizing risks;
  • Lead and perform the complete commercial process including issuing of requests for information, requests for proposals and tenders, evaluating proposals, recommending the award of and finalizing contracts;
  • Ensure that the commercial process is executed according to client policies and procedures, and documented in order to allow transparency and traceability throughout;
  • Identify all value items and their relationship within the scope of the commercial contracts and set the tender strategy according to a well-defined awarding criteria;
  • Coordinate the flow of information internally and externally keeping all stakeholders informed on progress;
  • Finalize the commercial and contractual deal as a basis for the contractual finalization through standard general conditions and/or managing exceptions to those together with legal and the main stakeholders;
  • Achieve maximum value while minimizing delivery, quality and performance risks. Find compromises and solutions to drive negotiations to a close under time pressure;
  • Actively participate in vendor relationship management, including: general communications and regular meetings, maintaining and improving vendor and market knowledge.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking passionate and motivated commercial contract professionals that are aligned to our Vision and excited by the opportunities and challenges of working in a rapidly expanding international business. Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English,
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support delivery of your package of works.
  • Experience in major infrastructure and energy projects is welcomed.
  • Experience with leading and managing commercial contracts and tender processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Structured and methodical way of working.
  • Ability to project manage processes and lead negotiations.
