Honor Foods is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Philadelphia. This is a highly visible role responsible for managing a diverse commodity portfolio, strengthening supplier partnerships, identifying market opportunities, and helping ensure our customers receive the products they need at the right time and the right cost.
You'll work closely with Sales, Operations, Transportation, and Finance while playing a key role in driving inventory performance, profitability, and long-term purchasing strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
• Manage purchasing activities across a broad portfolio of foodservice products and commodities
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and supplier agreements to maximize value
• Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and vendor partners
• Monitor inventory levels, purchasing trends, and demand forecasts
• Analyze commodity markets and proactively identify opportunities and potential supply risks
• Partner cross-functionally to maintain product availability while supporting customer needs
• Identify cost savings and process improvements without sacrificing quality or service
• Review purchasing metrics, inventory performance, and forecasting data to support business decisions
• Mentor and support members of the purchasing team
What We're Looking For
✔ 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, commodity buying, or strategic sourcing experience
✔ Experience within foodservice distribution, broadline distribution, redistribution, wholesale food, grocery, protein, dairy, produce, frozen foods, or related industries
✔ Strong vendor negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
✔ Knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting, category management, and supply chain operations
✔ Ability to analyze commodity markets and make data-driven purchasing decisions
✔ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or inventory management systems
✔ Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field preferred
