The Enterprise Data Platform team for 84.51° and Kroger is seeking a Senior Product Manager for our foundational internal products that provide enterprise-wide frameworks focused on improving how we understand, trust, and act on data. This role owns a defined product domain, drives discovery, shapes roadmaps, and delivers measurable user and business value in partnership with engineering, data, and platform stakeholders. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for ownership of product execution and short- to mid-term strategy, while partnering closely with Program Leadership for long-term vision and portfolio alignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own, define, and evolve core data platform capabilities tied to:
    • Visibility into data quality, freshness, reliability, and operational health across Kroger and 84.51˚.
    • Standardization, discovery, and contextual understanding of data dependencies designed to automate execution based on data readiness.
  • Shape day-to-day product execution within a 12‑month planning horizon, connecting platform capabilities to broader business objectives.
    • Maintains a 12-month delivery roadmap that is informed by user needs and business priorities.
    • Translate business goals, user needs, and technical constraints into product requirements and acceptance criteria with clear definitions of done and crisp functional & nonfunctional requirements.
    • Partner with the Data Program leadership, as well as engineering and data science leads, to plan quarters/cycles/sprints and ensure efficient, predictable delivery.
  • Monitors leading and lagging indicators for product health: adoption/activation/engagement, reliability & operability.
  • Tracks user sentiment via industry standard metrics (such as SUS or NPS); using insights to influence product strategy, vision, and priorities.
  • Maintain a strong cross functional communication plan ensuring alignment between users, Kroger, 84.51°, vendors, and adjacent product teams.
  • Maintain core product artifacts such as vision one‑pager; strategy brief; metrics tree/OKRs, operational readiness checklist (monitoring, alerts, runbooks, support model), etc.
  • Drive adoption across internal teams through documentation, enablement, demos, and feedback loops; remove friction points and champion the value your products’ drive across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional experience working with technical development teams in an agile environment leading product discovery, backlog, and delivery fundamentals.
  • Experience with managing end-to-end software product development for internal platform or data products preferred.
  • Professional experience aligning and influencing cross-functional teams across organizational boundaries to ensure seamless execution beyond your immediate scrum team.
  • Capable of evangelizing product purpose and customer value.
  • General technical acumen, able to efficiently converse with software engineers, data engineers, and, data scientists to understand their development processes.
  • Skilled in managing technical tradeoffs within the roadmap.
  • Skilled in problem solving, analytic thinking, and creativity.
  • Skilled in planning, organization, and verbal/written business communication.
  • Skilled in maintaining a team focus and priority in ambiguous and changing environments.
  • Skilled in quickly flexing between technical and business stakeholder conversations, adapting to a variety of audiences.
  • Minimum 2-4 years relevant experience driving software product development
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent professional experience.

  • The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest. Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
