Discussion

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager II - Vendor Spend based in United States.

This role owns the vendor-payment layer of a complex financial product, shaping how businesses pay vendors accurately, efficiently, and securely. You’ll lead a high-impact product domain spanning payment methods, expense management, accounting, compliance, and fraud prevention. The position combines strategic product ownership with deep technical collaboration across banking, payments, and financial systems. You’ll work closely with experienced engineering, design, accounting, risk, finance, and go-to-market teams. A major focus will be expanding payment capabilities while moving toward faster settlement and straight-through processing. You’ll also have the opportunity to build new 0→1 capabilities around purchasing and virtual AP cards. This is an environment suited to product leaders who enjoy complex systems, meaningful customer problems, and measurable business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

  • Own the vision, roadmap, prioritization, and success metrics for the Vendor Spend product domain, balancing customer needs, business priorities, adoption, cost, fraud reduction, and revenue outcomes.
  • Expand and streamline vendor payment capabilities across ACH, checks, direct-to-bank processing, card payments, and international payments while reducing time-to-payment and increasing automation.
  • Lead the development of new expense-management capabilities, including company-issued purchasing cards and virtual AP cards, covering issuance, controls, payment workflows, and accounting integration.
  • Drive accuracy, compliance, and fraud prevention across the payment ecosystem, including positive pay, check-fraud controls, ACH screening, AML processes, and vendor tax reporting.
  • Partner with banking infrastructure teams to define clear boundaries between payment workflows and underlying banking rails, ensuring reliable and scalable system evolution.
  • Work closely with Accounting to ensure vendor payments, reconciliation, and financial records flow accurately into the general ledger.
  • Manage competing priorities and requests from Product, Client Operations, Sales, Finance, Risk, Legal, Support, and other stakeholders as part of a structured product roadmap.
  • Use AI tools extensively across product discovery, analysis, documentation, code comprehension, prototyping, and other aspects of the product development lifecycle.
  • Requirements

    • 5+ years of product management experience in SaaS, fintech, or another technically complex environment.
    • Demonstrated success delivering measurable product outcomes, such as increased adoption, new market access, cost or fraud reduction, or revenue growth.
    • Experience or strong domain exposure to accounts payable, vendor or B2B payments, card issuance, accounting, or other money-movement workflows.
    • Strong technical orientation, with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams on systems architecture, data models, integrations, fund flows, and failure modes.
    • Daily hands-on use of AI tools, including LLMs, AI-assisted coding tools, and AI-enabled workflows, with the ability to explain how these tools have changed your product development practices.
    • Experience owning products with broad cross-functional dependencies and a large stakeholder surface area.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, combined with careful attention to compliance, accuracy, and quality requirements in financial products.
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity, develop expertise in unfamiliar technical domains, and make informed decisions independently.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and decision-oriented documentation.
    • Strong data skills and the ability to independently analyze product performance using tools such as SQL, Pendo, Omni, or Snowflake.
    • Customer empathy, a growth mindset, and a practical, action-oriented approach to product management.
    • Additional experience with payment rails such as ACH/NACHA, checks, positive pay, direct-to-bank processing, or payment processors is highly valued.
    • Experience launching new payment or card products from 0→1, working with fraud/AML controls or 1099 reporting, or operating within a high-growth SaaS environment is a plus.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive salary and benefits package.
      • Unlimited paid time off.
      • Remote work from anywhere in the United States or Canada.
      • Health and dental benefits.
      • Up to $1,500 USD / $2,025 CAD toward home IT setup.
      • Up to 2% matching RRSP / 401(k) contributions.
      • Learning and development opportunities.
      • Up to $50 USD / $67.50 CAD toward internet or cell phone services.
      • Opportunity to work on high-impact financial products involving payments, accounting, compliance, and emerging AI-enabled workflows.
      • Collaborative environment with experienced product, engineering, design, and cross-functional teams.
