Senior Product Manager-Payment Controllership and Compliance, Amazon Payment Services
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a strategic controllership and compliance product spanning our emerging markets. Amazon moves billions in payment volume across these markets each year and pays significant fees to processors, acquirers, and networks. Your mission is to establish complete, automated controllership so that every fee charged by every processor, across every fee type, is validated against contracted rates in real time, with zero reliance on manual reconciliation — and to ensure the whole system meets the highest bar for compliance and trust.
As the single-threaded owner, you will define what we build and why. You will partner deeply with engineering, finance, accounting, legal, compliance, risk, and regulatory teams to turn complex, evolving requirements into simple, reliable, and scalable capabilities. You will be equally comfortable diving deep into fee taxonomies, reconciliation logic, and regulatory frameworks as you are zooming out to articulate a multi-year product vision to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate is a builder who treats controllership and compliance not as constraints but as features — sources of durable trust . You will need strong judgment, the ability to influence without authority, and the tenacity to drive clarity.
Key job responsibilities
Own the end-to-end product strategy, vision, and roadmap for automated payments controllership and compliance, working backwards from finance, customer, and regulatory needs.
Serve as the single-threaded leader, aligning engineering, finance, accounting, legal, compliance, risk, and operations around a shared plan.
Drive coverage expansion across processors and fee types — moving from partial reconciliation toward near-complete transaction-level validation against contracted rates.
Define capabilities that automate reconciliation and accruals, eliminate over-accrual, and detect rate-card drift, misconfigurations, and remittance failures before they become losses.
Establish real-time governance and controls that surface variance and leakage, reduce mean-time-to-resolution, and monitor SLA compliance across markets.
Translate complex and evolving regulatory and compliance requirements into clear product requirements and prioritized deliverables.
Author narratives (PR/FAQs, strategy documents, and business/operational reviews) that drive decisions with senior leadership.
Define and monitor the metrics that matter — balancing accuracy, coverage, financial impact, customer experience, and compliance outcomes.
