Senior Product Manager
Summary
Contract Senior Product Manager (Sept 2026–Mar 2027) with Ontario's Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery, 100% onsite in Toronto. Leads the full product lifecycle: gathering and prioritizing requirements, writing MRDs/PRDs and prototypes, coordinating with engineering teams, and driving product launches and adoption.
- Lead product planning and execution throughout the complete product lifecycle.
- Gather, analyze, and prioritize product and customer requirements.
- Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with organizational strategy and goals.
- Ensure that product direction supports the organization's overall strategy and business objectives.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer experience, user needs, pain points, and expectations.
- Identify and address product gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Generate innovative product ideas and strategies that can contribute to growth and increased market share.
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve customer experience.
- Drive product growth and adoption.
- Build organizational and external stakeholder buy-in for the product vision.
- Develop product pricing and positioning strategies where applicable.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, functional specifications, and prototypes.
- Scope and prioritize product activities based on business impact and customer impact.
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to deliver products efficiently, achieve quick time-to-market, and optimize available resources.
- Lead and coordinate product launches, collaborating with public relations teams, executives, and other product management stakeholders.
- Evaluate promotional and communication plans to ensure alignment with the overall product-line strategy and that product messaging is effectively communicated.
- Act as a product evangelist, building awareness, understanding, and adoption of products.
- Represent the organization when engaging with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback on products and services.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, external partners, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Manage competing priorities while ensuring deliverables are completed within established timelines.
Requirements
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in product planning, product strategy, and product lifecycle management.
- Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing product and customer requirements.
- Experience defining and communicating product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Demonstrated ability to scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
- Strong project management capabilities, including managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Proven experience with client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering/technical teams to deliver products and solutions.
- Experience driving product launches and implementation activities.
- Experience developing and delivering Market Requirements Documents (MRDs).
- Experience developing and delivering Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
- Demonstrated ability to define and document prioritized features with corresponding business/customer justification.
- Experience translating product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
- Strong technical and business documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate product requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with technical teams throughout product development and delivery.
- Experience coordinating product delivery, deployment, and implementation activities.
- Understanding of technical integration considerations and their impact on product delivery.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams to achieve optimal resource utilization and quick time-to-market.
- Experience assessing technical and business considerations when defining product priorities and solutions.
- Experience working with external third parties to assess partnership and licensing opportunities.
- Experience running beta programs and pilot programs for early-stage products.
- Ability to gather feedback from customers and early adopters and incorporate findings into product strategy.
- Experience developing an in-depth understanding of competitive products and the competitive landscape.
