Senior Product Owner - Amar Bank Digital
Summary
Leads end-to-end product development for Amar Bank’s digital banking portfolio, turning business goals into measurable outcomes using data-driven experimentation and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated fintech environment.
About the position:
Senior Product Owner to take on initiatives across our digital banking portfolio: digital banking (retail & business), embedded banking, Tunaiku, or wherever the next priority lands. This isn't a backlog-management role, and it's not a "ship it and move on" role either. The person we're looking for can take a goal and a specific performance measure, then carry both through a full cycle: release, measure, analyze, and reach a documented decision on whether to continue, adjust, or drop it.
You'll sit at the intersection of strategy, data, design, and engineering, turning fairly open-ended business goals ("increase FX transaction volume by 30%", "cut onboarding drop-off in half") into something that actually ships and gets validated. And you stay on the hook for it until there's a real, evidence-backed conclusion, not just a launch announcement.
Requirements
-
5+ years in product management/ownership roles, with at least 2 years in mobile digital banking, fintech, or a comparably regulated, high-stakes consumer product environment
-
Demonstrated ownership of a product area from ambiguous goal to a documented, evidence-based conclusion, not just feature delivery
-
Experience working within compliance/risk-constrained environments (banking, payments, or similarly regulated industries preferred), including adherence to SDLC and formal experimentation standards
-
Track record of running rigorous experiments (with proper control groups) and using data to kill, adjust, or scale ideas
-
Experience coordinating delivery across multiple functions without direct authority over them
-
Comfortable moving across different product areas as priorities shift, and picking up unfamiliar initiatives quickly
-
Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity
Responsibilities:
-
Lead end-to-end discovery: customer interviews, market/competitive analysis, and problem validation before committing to solutions
-
Coordinate across Product, Design, Research, Engineering, Business, Operations, and Compliance without formal authority, aligning all parties on scope, sequence, and definition of completion
-
Partner with engineering to scope technical feasibility, trade-offs, and delivery timelines
-
Partner with design on UX flows, critique prototypes, and run usability validation before build
-
Work within established SDLC, PRD, and experimentation standards, and raise compliance or risk implications at the earliest opportunity rather than working around them
-
Define, prioritize, and continuously groom the product backlog using structured frameworks (RICE, weighted scoring, or equivalent)
-
Write clear PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering and design can execute against without ambiguity
-
Define the metrics and data behind each assigned measure, and confirm they represent what they're intended to before drawing conclusions
-
Design and run experiments (A/B tests, phased rollouts) with proper control groups and no unmanaged overlapping tests, to validate hypotheses and inform go/no-go decisions
-
Release each increment, measure its performance, analyze the outcome, and document a decision to continue, adjust, or discontinue
-
Own any defect, incident, or operational issue that arises between release and conclusion, mobilizing the right people to resolve it and stabilize the initiative
-
Report progress and outcomes to leadership with clear, data-backed narratives
-
Move flexibly across the bank's product portfolio as priorities are re-ranked, picking up new initiatives quickly and carrying each to a completed, documented conclusion
-
Evaluate where AI/ML can meaningfully improve the product experience or internal workflow, and scope those initiatives responsibly
