Senior Product & Quality Engineer – Bicycle Components (m/f/d)
Description
Your Responsibilities
As the crucial link between European R&D, quality management, and our Asian production partners, you take full ownership of your domain, reporting directly to our German CTO and the German Product Management team:
Engineering & Design: You are responsible for the engineering of bicycle components (frames, carriers, fenders, etc.) and create manufacturing-ready 3D and 2D CAD designs—always perfectly aligned with the guidelines of our European Product Management.
Prototyping & Hands-on: You build prototypes and test bikes yourself and possess a deep understanding of the technology, standards, and conventions of the bike industry. You have been using 3D printers for years to quickly turn ideas into reality. With our workshop right in the office, you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty for a quick result!
Supplier Management & DFM: You are in constant contact with our international suppliers, drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and optimize components for mass production. In doing so, you seamlessly merge European product design excellence with Asian production pragmatism.
SOPs & Process Guidelines: You create clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for our suppliers, implement them, and ensure that guidelines are understood flawlessly and executed without compromise.
Massive On-Site Presence: You are where the action is. During production phases, you are on-site daily with our suppliers in the immediate vicinity. Additionally, you travel regularly within Asia (e.g., Vietnam, China).
Quality & Compliance: You ensure product compliance via external service providers and strictly monitor and enforce our quality standards at supplier sites using automated tools.
Operational QC & Audits: You conduct production audits at suppliers, take over operational quality control (Dimensional QC, Paint QC—especially guiding external service providers), and document everything meticulously using our templates.
Problem-Solving (CAPA): You analyze QC results with razor-sharp precision, initiate targeted countermeasures in the event of deviations, and relentlessly oversee them until a final resolution is reached. If there’s a "Fail" on a document, you never turn a blind eye.
Data & Processes: You work cross-functionally, read and help process Bills of Materials (BOMs) at the deepest detail level, and maintain technical data in our ERP system.
Your Profile
We are looking for someone who shines professionally and fits culturally into our high-speed environment:
Mindset & Drive: You are a self-motivated high-performer, think entrepreneurially, take 100% ownership of your projects, and are extremely results-oriented. As an autodidact, you don't know "I can't do that," only "I can't do that yet." You are open-minded, unafraid to ask questions, and possess excellent communication skills. Your working style is highly precise; you rarely make mistakes.
Technical Background: A completed degree or equivalent training in mechanical, automotive, or two-wheeler engineering, plus solid experience. Strong knowledge of bicycle manufacturing processes and parameters, and the ability to balance weight, price, and aesthetics.
CAD Mastery: Able to complete advanced solid body & freeform surface CAD projects independently. Ideally experienced in Fusion 360.
Documentation Enthusiast: You are proactive and diligent in maintaining documentation, including, but not limited to, meeting minutes, ERP technical data, and QC records, while ensuring files are properly uploaded and named correctly in Google Drive.
Languages & Communication: You speak fluent Chinese and possess fluent business English.
Quality Enforcer: You have experience auditing suppliers, profound knowledge of product compliance, and a strong affinity for data-driven QA tools.
Flexibility & Willingness to Travel: Working in Asia and maintaining a regular presence directly on the production lines excites you rather than intimidates you.
