Senior Production Engineer (Plant Engineering / Power / Project Management) - Caribbean

GateSource HR Caribbean Division is partnering with a key client in the Caribbean to recruit an experienced Production Engineer that will lead the development and execution of a Capital Program aimed at expanding and upgrading production systems and facilities to support load growth, improve reliability and safety, enhance operational flexibility, and reduce system losses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Engineering Services capital projects related to the Production Division.

  • Supervise and review new installations and modifications to civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards.

  • Prepare, update, and monitor technical standards for electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation systems in the generation network.

  • Develop scopes of work, design specifications, and detailed engineering plans to support construction activities, ensuring alignment with the company’s project management processes.

  • Enforce company safety procedures and standards across all assigned projects, for both employees and contractors.

  • Provide technical leadership in the Production area and general engineering support to other departments. Deliver occasional internal training sessions for staff.

  • Actively participate in the engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of production systems. Provide on-call support and assist the Production Division as needed.

  • Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and consultants from the Production and Transmission & Distribution Divisions.

  • Guide and support team members in completing engineering and maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • At least 10 years of experience in plant engineering projects within the power utility sector.

  • Registered Professional Engineer or working toward recognized professional accreditation.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.

  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
