The Temporary Student Philanthropy Manager will oversee initiatives designed to engage students in philanthropy and increase student participation in annual giving. This role will be responsible for recruiting and managing student volunteers, planning and executing fundraising campaigns, leading the student philanthropy committee, stewarding student donors, and managing administrative activities associated with the program.

The Temporary Manager will work closely with the Associate Director and broader team to develop and implement new giving programs that expand student philanthropy across all undergraduate class years. The role will also build relationships with student leaders and organizations to identify opportunities for fundraising, crowdfunding, and participation in university-wide giving initiatives.

Essential Functions

Student Philanthropy Program Management - 30%

• Oversee the student philanthropy program with the goal of increasing philanthropic participation among graduating students.
• Recruit, engage, and manage the student philanthropy committee and its volunteers.
• Plan and execute student philanthropy and fundraising campaigns.
• Develop and coordinate marketing and communications directed toward current students.
• Support stewardship and engagement activities for student donors.

Student Engagement and Education - 20%

• Coordinate programs, educational events, and marketing initiatives that educate undergraduate students about the impact of philanthropic support.
• Promote a culture of philanthropy across campus.
• Develop strategies to increase awareness of and participation in student giving opportunities.
• Communicate the impact of private support and student philanthropy to the undergraduate community.

Student Fundraising and Crowdfunding - 20%

• Position Annual Giving as a resource for student fundraising initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with student leaders and organizations, including student government, clubs, organizations, club sports, and varsity athletic teams.
• Identify opportunities for high-potential crowdfunding campaigns and other student-led fundraising initiatives.
• Recruit and engage student participants for university-wide giving campaigns and events.

Crowdfunding Program Support - 20%

• Collaborate with the Associate Director of Digital to train, onboard, and support student organizations participating in crowdfunding initiatives.
• Coordinate crowdfunding activities across multiple campaign cycles.
• Provide guidance and resources to student organizations throughout the fundraising process.
• Support student participation in Giving Day, Giving Tuesday, and other university-wide giving initiatives.
• Monitor campaign activities and assist student groups in achieving their fundraising objectives.

Student Staff and Volunteer Management - 10%

• Recruit, train, and supervise student philanthropy staff and volunteers as needed.
• Provide ongoing guidance, support, and feedback to student volunteers.
• Coordinate schedules, meetings, and activities to ensure effective program execution.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated enthusiasm for relationship-building, networking, and student engagement.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Experience working with students, volunteers, fundraising programs, nonprofit organizations, higher education, or related environments preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Must be willing and able to adjust work hours as needed to attend in-person committee meetings and events, including occasional evening meetings.
