Senior Program Manager - Early Learning and School Age Programs

The Senior Program Manager is a member of the Early Childhood Learning Center’s & School Age Management Team and acts on behalf of the Director in her absence. The position oversees the management and direct supervision of all Early Childhood classroom staff, the implementation and documented tracking of outcome-based curriculum and the implementation of the staff development-training program. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following areas:

Management of Early Childhood Staff and Curriculum

  • Assist the Director in supervision of Early Childhood staff and Schol Age staff as needed.
  • Assist the Director with implementation of the ITERS & ELLCO testing and any other testing materials integrated into the curriculum;
  • Develop and train new staff in SFA and BTL curriculum;
  • Develop and train staff to implement curriculum assessments;
  • Participate actively with staff in the development and implementation of daily/monthly activity plans. Place special emphasis on the development of age-appropriate literacy skills;
  • Monitor the relationships between childcare staff and parents. Ensure that staff always greet parents warmly and speak to them positively about their child;
  • Ensure that the Parent Communication Boards located outside each classroom are up-to-date and informative and present an accurate overview of what is happening each day;

Curriculum Implementation and Assessment

· Report regularly to the Early Childhood Director to inform and report progress obstacles and make necessary recommendations pertaining to curriculum assessments;

· Work directly with ALL Early Childhood staff (Infant/Toddler, PS and Kindergarten) to implement established, developmentally appropriate curriculum;

· Work with teachers to plan a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fits the philosophy, curriculum and assessment framework, themes, Mass Curriculum Frameworks and NAYEC Accreditation standards and ERF;

· Ensure that individual student progress is tracked and documented through a variety of testing and assessment methods that collect data and identify measurable outcomes;

· Compile assessments, develop plans, and work directly with teachers to implement curriculum,

· Provide instructional support, guidance and “individual coaching” to teachers and work with them to develop their professional port folios;

Professional Staff Training & Development

  • Monitor staff training/development opportunities ensuring that staff meet requirements established by EEC;
  • Work with individual staff to complete and maintain a written Individual Professional Development Plan and document ongoing progress;
  • Work with staff and assist them in completing a Professional Work Portfolio;
  • Monitor the level of participation by staff in professional staff development activities documenting in the PQR Registry and reporting progress to the Director at least quarterly;

Management Team and Quality Control

Work with other members of the management Team to ensure the following

  • Compliance with EEC licensing regulations and NAEYC Accreditation standards;
  • Compliance with the State QRS system
  • Proper staff scheduling that ensures the safety and well-being of all children in care
  • Uphold SFA, ERF and BTL curriculum and assessments.
  • Health & Building Safety checks;
  • Attend management meetings and YWCA events as necessary;
