Senior Program Manager, LMT Reverse Logistics, LMT Reverse Logistics
Summary
Senior Program Manager leading technology development and operational integration for Amazon's Merchant Fulfilled Network first-mile pickup program in Japan, bridging seller operations, last-mile logistics, and technology across multiple stakeholder teams.
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Japan is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the technology development and operational integration of our Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) First mile pickup program. This role sits at the intersection of seller operations, last-mile logistics, and technology — requiring someone who can translate complex seller and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions, and drive them end-to-end across a multi-stakeholder organization.
You will own the MFN pickup technology roadmap for Japan, from seller onboarding infrastructure and SLAM label distribution through route planning integration and injection time optimization. As part of the Last Mile Tech (LMT) organization, you will partner closely with Delivery Stations, Sort Centers, Fulfillment Centers, global product teams, and seller-facing organizations to define, build, and scale MFN pickup operations across AMZL Japan.
At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the Japan subject matter expert for MFN pickup technology, covering the full seller-to-FC package journey: seller registration, label issuance, route planning integration, DS injection, and middle-mile handoff. Provide hands-on Gemba support to resolve operational failures at DS nodes and seller locations.
- Define and own the MFN pickup technology roadmap for Japan, identifying capability gaps between current-state operations and the target architecture, and building the business case and sequencing plan to close them in partnership with global product teams.
- Drive route planning system (RTW) integration for MFN demand, partnering with tech teams to enable multi-time-window routing that reflects seller-specific cutoff constraints and DS operational schedules.
- Analyze injection performance data, seller compliance rates, and transit time metrics to identify systemic failure modes, conduct root cause analysis, and develop data-driven recommendations for operational and technical improvements.
- Manage end-to-end program execution for MFN tech initiatives — project planning, quality gates, pilot-to-scale sequencing, risk management — ensuring pilots are properly instrumented and results translate into defensible expansion decisions.
