The RoleThe Senior Programmer Analyst designs, develops and supports complex enterprise applications that enable critical business operations. The role delivers secure, reliable and high-quality technical solutions aligned with Yarra Valley Water's architecture and standards, while enhancing existing systems and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with business stakeholders and delivery teams, the role contributes to solution design and delivery technology outcomes that support business priorities.
Your key responsibilities
Act as a senior technical contact for IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) and related asset management applications, providing expert guidance and collaborating with stakeholders, Service Futures teams and vendors to support effective service delivery.
Analyse business requirements and design, configure, develop and enhance MAS applications, integrations, automation scripts, workflows and APIs in line with enterprise architecture, security and development standards.
Provide expert technical support by investigating and resolving complex incidents, service requests and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions to maintain system availability, reliability and performance.
Drive the continuous improvement of MAS and related asset management applications through proactive monitoring, performance optimisation, upgrades and enhancements that improve system capability and user experience.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, developers and testers to deliver high-quality solutions, contributing to solution design, technical reviews, risk management, testing and release and deployment activities.
Maintain robust technical documentation and promote best practices across application development, configuration, testing and support, while keeping technical capability current and contributing to knowledge sharing across the team.
What we’re looking for
Strong experience with IBM Maximo configuration, administration and application development, with a good understanding of Enterprise Asset Management processes including Work Management, Assets, Preventive Maintenance, Inventory, Procurement and Contracts.
Experience across Maximo applications and supporting capabilities, including Application Designer, workflows, automation scripts, security and integrations, with an understanding of SQL, databases and system performance.
Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical solutions, including experience with Maximo Integration Framework, APIs and enterprise integrations such as MuleSoft.
Strong problem-solving, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and business teams, manage competing priorities and contribute to continuous improvement.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Computer Science or IT – mandatory.
