Senior / Project Engineer (Construction)
Project Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in managing daily project activities.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
Site Management
- Supervise site activities and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship and progress.
- Identify potential issues and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate site resources, manpower, materials, and equipment.
Planning & Scheduling
- Assist in developing and updating project schedules.
- Track project milestones and report progress against planned targets.
- Support the preparation of work programs and recovery plans when necessary.
Quality Control
- Ensure construction works comply with quality standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate inspections and testing activities.
- Maintain proper documentation of quality records and approvals.
Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health regulations.
- Participate in safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and risk assessments.
- Promote a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain project records, drawings, RFIs, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Assist in preparing project correspondence and technical documentation.
Cost & Procurement Support
- Assist in material planning and procurement activities.
- Monitor material deliveries and site inventory.
- Support project cost control and variation management processes.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Internship or industrial attachment experience in construction projects is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of construction methods and project management principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and project scheduling software is advantageous.
- Knowledge of BIM software is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to work on construction sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Singapore construction practices and regulations.
- Familiarity with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
- Basic understanding of project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Possession of a Class 3 Driving Licence is advantageous.
