Kitchell is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to join our Phoenix team and build a long-term career with one of the most innovative and growth-focused construction companies in the U.S.

In this role, you won’t just support projects—you’ll help shape them. You’ll be a key contributor to delivering high-quality commercial projects, collaborating with experienced leaders, and gaining exposure to every phase of construction.

What You’ll Do

  • Play a central role in project execution by managing submittals, RFIs, and documentation with accuracy and urgency
  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep projects on schedule, on budget, and aligned with contract requirements
  • Coordinate meetings, track action items, and ensure clear communication across project teams
  • Maintain organized project records, including drawings, logs, and change documentation
  • Monitor material procurement and support schedule updates to keep projects moving forward
  • Help identify risks early by understanding subcontract scopes and project requirements
  • Support quality control efforts and ensure work aligns with Kitchell’s standards and project specifications
  • Assist with change orders, progress payments, and financial tracking
  • Contribute to bid processes and project startup/closeout activities
  • Mentor junior engineers or interns and help strengthen the team

What You Bring

  • 4–6 years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, processes, and project coordination
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with project management software and scheduling tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • OSHA 10 certification
