Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical (Data Centre Retrofit)

Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical leading retrofit upgrades for live data centres. You will drive mechanical building services improvements, capacity increases and resilience in European projects from London with hybrid options. You’ll shape retrofit strategies, manage scope and budgets, and mentor engineers while liaising with clients and vendors to minimize disruption. • Lead design and delivery of mechanical building services upgrades in live data centre environments
• Develop retrofit strategies including redundancy, outage, and resilience planning
• Prepare and review design documents, drawings, and technical reports
• Manage project scope, budget, and contracts; mitigate risks and live-environment constraints
• Liaise with clients and vendors to ensure smooth delivery with minimal disruption
• Drive quality assurance and governance across live projects
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development
• Support business development through proposals and technical strategies across EMEA

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in building services engineering with at least 3 years in data centre or mission-critical projects
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
• Proven record delivering multi-million-euro mechanical projects from concept to completion
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Bluebeam; strong understanding of data centre mechanical systems (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water plant)
• Knowledge of CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, EN standards, and EU Energy Efficiency Directive requirements
