Senior Project Engineer
The Senior Engineer provides advanced engineering support for underground development, mass excavation and construction projects. Responsibilities include the preparation, scheduling, coordination, forecasting, resourcing
and monitoring of assigned engineering projects to ensure the projects overall accuracy and quality.
1. Provides advanced planning, coordination, procurement, and management of the overall design and
engineering process.
2. Participates in design reviews of components to ensure applicability to the current system and
traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
3. Translates conceptual designs into system requirement specifications and works with all engineering
disciplines to develop detailed design requirements and work breakdown structures.
4. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall
system requirements.
5. Focuses on discipline interfaces to bring system elements together effectively and track their implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Works with leadership, quality, various departments and safety personnel to develop acceptance test
procedures.
7. Reviews test plans/procedures and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.
8. Compiles engineering budgets based on input from all engineering disciplines.
9. Creates and manages design schedules to monitor anticipated completion dates of design deliverables.
10. Prepares technical reports for use by engineers and management staff for long- and short-term planning.
11. Integrates and reviews technical aspects into existing safety and training programs.
12. Perform detailed engineering tasks as required.
13. Participates in project risk assessments and constructability reviews.
14. Generates technical requirements based on project methodologies and risk assessments.
15. Ensures that engineering designs follow all client requirements, applicable regulations, and safety standards.
16. Identify and correct daily operational problems and take necessary action.
17. Identify changes and variations to the works under the Contract and ensure these issues are recorded,
tracked, and otherwise managed in accordance with the Contract.
18. Provide technical support, quality, and environmental control of the works in accordance with the
contract specifications and the relevant statutory regulations.
19. Performs scheduling of project activities in conjunction with the Engineering Manager.
20. Prepares weekly and monthly mine development forecasts.
21. Prepares construction and fabrication drawings and supports construction crews to ensure that work done meets technical requirements.
22. Address and troubleshoot daily activity issues needing action.
23. Conducts cycle studies and estimates performance rates.
24. Prepares and reviews change order requests and determines the technical requirements for implementation the changes.
25. Ensure that all construction is drafted, and specifications determined prior to the associated construction
activity.
26. Attend meetings and interact with client representatives.
27. Tours work areas to ensure that quality and scope of work is being accomplished.
28. Compiles redline drawings to ensure drawing register is up to date with current as-built conditions.
29. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to
be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable
driving record.
30. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
31. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and
efficient manner.
32. Comply with daily, weekly, and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
33. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
34. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the
appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
35. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
36. Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.

Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering

1. Required: 6-10 years’ experience in a mining environment.
