SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

Description

A Senior Project Engineer is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects within an organization. This role involves leading a team of engineers, coordinating project activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets, and facilitating effective communication among project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

· Daily Update of Project / Operation Progress to immediate superior.

· To have and maintain good daily attendance and punctuality.

· To update team member at least 3 working days in advance before going for leave, in order to minimize downtime. Prepare handover form and hand over the works to deputy

· Manage and lead the project team.

· Lead to control the quality of production to exceed or meet the client's expectations.

· Manage co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in the project.

· Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.

· Ensure all authority related requirements are followed during execution of work, liaise with authorities if required.

· To instruct project leads to develop their own JSJD and monitor their performance based on their JSDS.

· Manage project scope and changes and escalate the issues where necessary.

· Monitor project progress and performance.

· Conduct management and project related training to the team members, whenever is required.

· Manage project execution within the defined budget.

· To monitor subcontractors, work and attend weekly/monthly meeting to ensure the execution is smooth.

· Monitor the manpower and machinery movement closely to ensure all resources are used properly.

· Arrange construction progress meeting with the team every day.

· Manage project evaluation and dissemination activities.

· Work closely with clients to ensure the project meets business needs.

· Manage to achieve the client satisfactory on the testing of the finished product.

· Identify the team members who needs to be trained and send them for training throughout the project.

· Observe and identify those who have potential to take up higher responsibilities and report to senior management.

· Develop and maintain a detailed project execution plan.

· Emphasize the safety of the whole project team throughout the project as the topmost priority.

· Plan for 3 months ahead for all resources and sequence and optimize the resources as per project flow.

· To plan for overall manpower, machinery, tools, consumables required for the project execution.

· Record and manage project issues and escalate where necessary.

· Resolve cross-functional issues at project level.

· Liaise with, and update progress to senior management.

· Provide regular status reports to the client.

· To be proactive in creating a safe working environment for everyone and ensuring that HSE in-house rules are observed at all times.

· To consider HSE aspects when planning and carrying out tasks to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects and risks.

Requirements

· Preferably bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant Pre-U/ A level/ College/ Diploma/ Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma/Office Skill Certificate or equivalent

· Preferably computer literate in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Preferably minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas construction

· Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills, excellent problem-solving skills backed by solid technical knowledge. A versatile and service-oriented mindset.

· Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

· Able to complete tasks with little or no supervision.
