WATG is hiring a Senior Project Landscape Designer for our Singapore office.
ROLE
The Senior Project Landscape Designer prepares and develops site plans, specifications, and cost estimates for land development, coordinating the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures. The Senior Project Landscape Designer works on projects of large scope, scale, and complexity. The Senior Project Landscape Designer collaborates to market and manage business development efforts on a variety of design projects. The Senior Project Landscape Designer directs the work assignments of a diverse project team and coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides design leadership to the team on project deliverables and design strategy
- Works on a diverse array of projects of varying scope, scale, and complexity
- Develops and coordinates all facets of project design, from conceptual design (sketches, illustrative graphics, 3D-Models, renderings) through construction documentation (details, plans, document production)
- Completes site analysis, landscape architecture design and renderings, and coordinates the site layout and details, including grading, hardscape, water feature, and planting design
- Validates that the design idea is properly executed and conforms to the contractual agreement with the client
- Develops and reviews the production of drawings and models according to established standards
- Coordinates site plans to include grading design, stormwater management systems design, and landscaping
- May have input into erosion control plans and sediment control design
- Coordinates diagrams, renderings, and conceptual graphics with members of the project team
- Directs project planning and design, including due diligence studies, concept plans, site and landscape plans, and the production of design computations
- Provides specialized technical assistance with particular landscape building types, components, materials, elements, or building codes
- Provides QA/QC on plans and specifications, developing solutions to technical problems in the landscape architectural plans and drawings
- Responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specifications
- Provides various pre-design services, including feasibility and environmental impact studies, site selection, or other design requirements
- Responsible for the implementation of processes that reduce risk and exposure
- Provides leadership for the design process to ensure design continuity
- Effectively manages the team and ensures the effective utilization of resources and the quality of work
- Manages and collaborates with clients, consultants, contractors, and project team members
- May delegate work to other Project Landscape Designers or across project teams
- Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work
- Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture
- 15+ years of experience in Landscape Architecture and/or Site Design
- Environmental accreditation preferred
- Proficiency in technical skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and Grasshopper
- Experienced in client management, project management, and negotiations
- Ability to work in a team environment and supervise others effectively
- Manages multiple project priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines consistently
- Highly effective communication skills in verbal presentation and written narrative
