Senior Project Manager
Senior Project Manager - Hardware & Embedded Systems
Job Description
We are looking for a Project Manager with experience in hardware and embedded software delivery. Your role will cover a range of embedded and hardware-related projects - from driver-level development and firmware integration to mixed hardware/software solutions and full product development initiatives.
Beyond project execution, you will also participate in early-stage solution shaping, helping clarify requirements, estimate effort, and support engineering teams during pre-delivery phases.
You don’t need deep engineering expertise but having a relevant technical background or hands-on experience in hardware or embedded systems is a strong advantage. You should be comfortable navigating technical discussions, understanding embedded system constraints, and contributing to structured, realistic solution proposals.
What you’ll do:
Project Coordination & Delivery
Define scope: Define scope, schedules, and deliverables together with business, technical leads and engineering stakeholders.
Manage delivery: Oversee projects involving driver development, firmware updates, embedded system integration, and product-level initiatives.
Track execution: Track progress, manage dependencies, and ensure timely milestone completion.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Serve as the primary link between engineering teams, sales, and external clients.
Set realistic expectations and communicate business and technical constraints clearly.
Facilitate scope adjustments and ensure alignment across all parties.
Process & Risk Management
Implement structured project tracking using Jira or similar tools.
Coordinate third-party partners, manufacturers, and certification organizations involved in the hardware lifecycle.
Proactively address potential challenges such as hardware availability, testing constraints, and firmware reliability.
Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with embedded, firmware, and hardware engineers to ensure projects align with technical requirements and feasibility.
Support iterative development cycles, driver refinement, and firmware integration.
Help streamline project reporting and assist in resolving delivery challenges.
Solution Design & Estimation
Collaborating with engineering leads to shape initial solution approaches for embedded and hardware projects.
Support effort estimation, scope clarification, and feasibility assessment during RFQ/RFP or discovery phases.
Translate technical input into structured proposals and delivery plans.
Key Requirements:
Project Management Experience
4+ years of experience in firmware, hardware, or embedded systems delivery - either as a Project Manager or in a technical engineering role with exposure to project coordination.
Candidates with a strong engineering background who are motivated to grow into a project management path are highly encouraged to apply.
Comfortable working in structured delivery environments and willing to develop deeper PM competencies (planning, tracking, stakeholder communication, risk management).
Familiarity with modern project management methodologies is a plus, but not mandatory if you bring solid technical expertise and a willingness to learn.
Experience with Jira or similar PM tools.
Technical Understanding
General awareness of firmware development and driver-level programming considerations.
Understanding of how hardware and software interact in embedded projects.
Ability to communicate key embedded concepts in a clear and accessible way to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
Soft Skills & Communication
Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
Skilled at facilitating collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Effective at documentation, reporting, and client communication.
Good level of English (min. B2).
Nice to have:
Exposure to pre-sales activities (RFQs, RFPs, requirement gathering).
Familiarity with regulatory compliance or certification processes.
Why join us?
- Work with highly skilled engineers on real-world embedded projects.
- Gain hands-on experience with driver development and firmware integration projects.
- Be part of a fast-growing, technology-driven company where structured project execution is valued.
- Enjoy a collaborative, flexible work environment that supports growth and learning.
