Senior Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of construction projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and resource requirements.
- Establish project objectives, milestones, deliverables, and key performance indicators.
- Manage and coordinate consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve delays, risks, issues, and constraints.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations.
- Manage project costs, cash flow, variations, claims, and commercial matters.
- Review and approve project programmes, method statements, construction plans, and progress reports.
- Lead regular project meetings and provide clear progress updates to senior management and clients.
- Ensure effective quality assurance and quality control throughout the construction process.
- Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage project risks and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency strategies.
- Coordinate design development, technical issues, approvals, and changes during construction.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, defects rectification, project close-out, and final handover.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, reports, and contractual correspondence.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Mentor and provide leadership to project managers, engineers, site teams, and other project personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Typically 10+ years of relevant construction/project management experience, with significant experience managing large or complex projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects from inception through completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, contracts, procurement, cost management, and scheduling.
- Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, and commercial management.
- Excellent project planning, organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management, clients, consultants, and site teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and construction regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant project management/scheduling software.
- Strong attention to detail with a commercial and results-oriented mindset.
