As Senior Project Manager in Electronic Process Engineering Europe, you'll connect LEGO® element design with manufacturable processes.
Play your part in our team succeeding
Our team engineers process solutions for electronics components made with global electronic manufacturing services (EMS) partners in Hungary, Mexico, China and beyond. For our external manufacturing platform (PEM), you'll design, source, plan and deliver components that fit our production frames. Working with colleagues across design, sourcing and manufacturing, the role protects product safety, launch timing and LEGO® Quality Standards.
Core Responsibilities
Design & Manufacturing Insight: Quickly understand design elements to determine efficient manufacturing processes, leveraging deep engineering knowledge in consumer electronics.
Process Engineering & Project Management: Balance responsibilities with a 50/50 focus on process engineering and project management to ensure timely delivery of Smartplay elements.
Equipment Development: Collaborate with third-party partners to develop and specify equipment needs, ensuring timely supplier delivery.
Project Leadership: Lead equipment platform development projects using our Project Execution Model, shaping project scope by understanding internal customer needs and manufacturing requirements.
Collaboration & Execution: Partner with specialists, suppliers, and colleagues to deliver scalable manufacturing solutions aligned with business priorities. Ensure effective execution by defining clear roles and responsibilities and establishing solid project governance.
Project Handover & Standards: Secure strong anchoring during project handover to the line organization, maintaining high standards.
Continuous Improvement: Conduct after-action reviews and integrate best project management practices and tools, applying agile principles where relevant.
Do you have what it takes?
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in EMS.
Experience working with novelty electronic products, preferably with a background in consumer, medical devices, automotive, audio, or similar fields.
Comfortable managing projects, planning risks and keeping work clear from concept to production.
Able to collaborate across functions, build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Strong negotiation, communication, influencing, and analytical skills.
Professional level English is required for effective communication across cultures and seniority levels.
Solid knowledge of process engineering tools such as DFx, FMEA, Six Sigma
Knowledge of MTM, time studies, line balancing, lean manufacturing, and bottleneck analysis.
Additional details on this position
This position is based in Billund, with no relocation support offered. Travel is expected around 40% per year, typically one-week visits to EMS partners, with more travel near element launches.
