Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage Enterprise IT projects in alignment with Emerson PMO standards, the IT project lifecycle, and established governance practices. This role partners with sponsors, stakeholders, technical teams, business groups, and third-party suppliers to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining clear communication, risk management, and project health visibility.
The ideal candidate is a strong project leader who understands the application lifecycle and can translate business requirements into well-defined technology initiatives, and able to apply Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, Kanban, or SAFe methods based on project needs.
- Lead assigned Enterprise IT projects using PMO best practices, the IT project lifecycle framework, and Emerson’s project delivery guidance.
- Define and manage project scope, approach, requirements, use cases, success criteria, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs.
- Develop and maintain project plans that balance time, cost, quality, scope, talent, prerequisites, interdependencies, and business deadlines.
- Monitor project performance, health indicators, key performance indicators, risks, issues, decisions, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Protect approved scope, schedule, cost, quality, and resource commitments through disciplined change control and appropriate governance approvals.
- Prepare, maintain, and retain required project deliverables in accordance with IT lifecycle, PMO, and portfolio requirements.
- Manage stakeholder communications, project status reporting, steering group meetings, and stage gate reviews to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Partner with sponsors, business stakeholders, finance, technical teams, and suppliers to estimate budgets, track costs, resolve issues, and support delivery decisions.
- Coordinate work across global teams, third-party suppliers, and multiple locations while monitoring supplier progress and contract adherence.
- Ensure project teams follow security, quality assurance, testing, and other required Enterprise IT processes and procedures.
- Use Emerson’s project and portfolio management tools to maintain project data, milestones, dates, health indicators, performance reporting, and resource management information.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, process simplification, improved reporting, and better project delivery practices.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to Project Managers and Project Coordinators on Enterprise IT PMO methodology, tools, and project management practices.

You anticipate risks, escalate appropriately, and keep teams focused on outcomes. You are disciplined in project governance, adaptable in delivery approach, and committed to continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of IT or business-related experience.
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience or experience in a related delivery leadership capacity.
Demonstrated experience managing complex enterprise application implementations, upgrades, integrations, or transformations.
Strong understanding of the software/application development lifecycle and project delivery methodologies.
Experience managing projects in a global, matrixed environment with multiple teams, stakeholders, and locations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and business priorities.
Strong communication, teamwork, stakeholder management, customer relationship, and influencing skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, and project or portfolio management tools.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Project management certification such as PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent.
Experience with IT infrastructure, data center, Oracle, or enterprise application projects.
Experience applying Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, Kanban, or SAFe delivery methods.
Experience with project and portfolio management platforms.
Demonstrated ability to coach or mentor project managers, coordinators, or delivery teams.
