Senior Project Manager (IT Team) - Contract

Job Overview

• We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage and oversee Change Requests (CR) and support the Core System Transition for the Group Insurance application.
• The role will be responsible for coordinating with key stakeholders, managing CR scope, timeline, and budget, tracking project progress, and supporting communication and user readiness throughout the transition from the legacy system to the new core system.

Key Responsibilities

Change Request & Scope Management

• Analyse and assess the impact of Change Requests (CR) on the project's baseline plan and overall timeline.
• Coordinate with Product Owners (PO), Business Analysts (BA), Tech Leads (TL), and Project Managers (PM).
• Monitor and control the transition of the Group Insurance application from the legacy system to the new core system.

Timeline, Demo & UAT Management

• Establish delivery timelines and closely monitor the progress of each CR from development and system demo through UAT to Go-Live.
• Coordinate with the PO and BA to ensure each CR is properly planned and included in the appropriate delivery/demo cycle.
• Follow up on pending items, issues, and potential delays to ensure timely delivery.

CR Budget & Governance

• Review and assess the budget required for each Change Request.
• Verify that sufficient budget is available to support each CR.
• Prepare relevant information for project committee review when additional budget is required.
• Follow up with CR Owners to ensure the required budget approval is completed.

Core System Transition & Change Communication

• Act as a project representative, together with the main PM, in communicating the overall transition to the new Group Insurance Core System.
• Drive user readiness based on the transition plan established by the project team.
• Communicate key project updates and support users throughout the transition from the legacy system to the new system.
• Gather user feedback, address concerns, and help reduce resistance during the system transition.

CR Log & Pending Item Tracking

• Maintain and control the Change Request (CR) log.
• Track CR status, pending items, issues, and obstacles on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure relevant stakeholders are updated on progress and outstanding actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager.
• Experience in the insurance business, especially Group Insurance, is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in project coordination, Change Request management, and scope management.
• Strong ability to perform impact analysis and assess the effect of changes on project plans and timelines.
• Experience in budget management and project governance.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable communicating and presenting to senior management and executives.
• Good understanding of system development processes, UAT, demos, and Go-Live.
• Strong change management skills, especially in communicating system changes and supporting user adoption.
• Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle unexpected situations and resolve issues effectively.
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders.
