Senior Project Manager - Real-World Health Data Platforms (f/m/x)

Open 48d

Our goal at Data4Life is to make the world a healthier place. Our Real World Evidence Projects team makes sure we move toward that goal with focus, rigor and speed -translating research ambition into software that generates real impact in healthcare, in Germany and beyond.

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager (f/m/d) to lead our work on the Artificial Intelligence-Ready Mount Sinai platform (AIR·MS) and drive Data2Evidence (D2E) projects throughout the world. AIR·MS integrates multimodal datasets spanning more than 12 million patients using the OMOP Common Data Model, and makes it accessible for interactive cohort building, AI model training, and federated analysis in a HIPAA-compliant environment; Data2Evidence is our RWD platform that enables transforming datasets into the OMOP CDM and harmonizing them into OHDSI standardized vocabularies to allow for no-code, interactive cohort building and analytics.

This is a full-time position based in Potsdam / Berlin. You’ll report to the Head of RWE Projects, and take over end-to-end delivery of AIR·MS, working across engineering, data, clinical research, and partner organizations on multiple continents.

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multi-year, multi-stakeholder platform workstreams - from roadmap and quarterly OKR planning through execution, risk management, and stakeholder reporting to C-level and external partners.

  • Drive cross-functional delivery across our software engineering, platform, ML, design, and quality teams -aligning Scrum and Kanban delivery cadences with waterfall-style timelines typical of research programs.

  • Collaborate with principal investigators, clinicians, and researchers at Mount Sinai, HPI, and further collaborations to translate research questions into concrete, shippable platform capabilities - without losing scientific nuance.

  • Manage Data2Evidence (D2E) projects, coordinating between international research partners to implement data-driven solutions from D4L and the OHDSI community.

  • Contribute to maturing our project management practice across Data4Life.

  • 5+ years of project or program management experience in software development: Demonstrated experience with data platforms or health informatics. Working understanding of the OMOP Common Data Model, OHDSI standard vocabularies and tooling, HL7 FHIR, and DICOM is a plus.

  • 3+ years in a regulated healthcare or life sciences environment: Direct experience in working under the constraints that come with identifiable patient data, and knowing what “audit-ready” means.

  • 3+ years leading projects: Demonstrated experience with ETL pipelines, large-scale data warehouses, data analytics tooling, and cloud infrastructure; having a deep understanding of the work to challenge estimates.

  • Demonstrated experience managing large projects across time zones, cultures, and organization types, working alongside academic institutions and clinical research environments.

  • Mastery of Scrum or Kanban, with the flexibility to interface with waterfall timelines common in research projects.

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering), a relevant scientific discipline (Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics), Business/Management or equivalent professional experience managing complex software/data projects.

  • Languages: You're fluent in English. German at B2 level and/or a third language is a plus.

  • High level of personal responsibility and creative freedom
  • Work on socially impactful projects in the healthcare sector
  • Collaboration with leading partners from research, technology, and healthcare
  • A diverse, interdisciplinary, and international team working across three locations (Potsdam, Berlin, and Singapore)
  • Flexible working models with the option to work from home
  • Permanent employment contract with 30 days of vacation
  • Attractive employee benefits, e.g. private supplementary health insurance, public transport ticket, education budget
  • We especially welcome applicants from the LGBTQI+ community, people with a migration background, people of color, and individuals with neurodiversity, disabilities, or chronic illnesses to the team.
  • If you need support or special assistance during the application or interview process due to a disability, please feel free to let us know and we are happy to accommodate you as much as possible.
  • Please enclose your complete documents (CV and motivation letter) with your application.
  • For this position it is important that you are able to regularly be present in our Potsdam and/or Berlin office.
